Waste disposal

   What is being done to solve the problems

Since 1997 the Government Statistical Report is implemented for the registration of industrial waste. The rate setting of waste appearance and special payment for their removal and burial are integrated. Enterprises of city are taken measures on salvaging the departures.



According to the data from the total quantity of waste, appeared during year 2000 (7100,8 tons) was utilized 3189,2 tons, or 35,5%, among them: the 1-st level of danger - 6,6%, the 2-nd level - 94,4%, the 3-d level - 31,7%, the 4-th level - 28,5%.
The new plant for demercurization of mercury and fluorescent lighting using ecologically pure technologies on mercury elimination has begun its work. From the total quantity of fluorescent lighting lighting 19,3% has rendered harmless.
With the financial support of World Bank and Europian Bank of Reconstruction, and Development the building of 2 waste processing stations is conducted (totally 4 such stations will be built, where waste will be pressed for removal and burial and next processing). The pressing of waste will permit to decrease the transport expenses and the emissions into the atmosphere, because of fuel economy. By this project is considered the reconstruction of existing burial place for consumer waste and acquiring of modern special equipment.
In the city about 400 (from the planned 600) garbage gathering plants, equiped by special containers were built. On the separate plants the units on collection of secondary raw materials are organized.
