Sheykhantaur
complex
Mazar Sheykhantaur was one of the
most honoured sacred places of Tashkent, periodically yielding to
Koffal Shashi. As long ago, as at the beginning of the 20-th century
there was comfortable park with hundred years old platans, pools and
pavilions, where the holidays of public were conducted. Khavend
Takhur Sheikh was the closest ancestor of the famous mystic of
Central Asia Khodja Akhrar. Inside the mausoleum, near his tomb the
other 4 tombs are situated, which belong to the Tashkent governer of
the 19-th century Yunuskhodja and his son-Sultankhodja. Near the
mausoleum of Sheykhantaur the mausoleum of Kaldirgashbay, also the
ancestor of Khodja Akhrar is situated. They are joined by funeral
mosque (Aurat mosque). Not so far from this place, on the bank of
small water canal the mazar Kuktellikata was situated, which was
treated as the place of recovery from illness. On the West from
that place the mausoleum of Yunuskhan Mogolistan, the ancestor of
Chingizkhan's second son is situated. His childhood Yunushan spent
in Herat, after this - in Iyezdi, where his supervisor was
Sherefetdin al Iyezdi, the famous author of chronicle "The book of
triumphs" - "Zafarname" of Temur. Yunuskhan was lavished great
attentions by his supervisor, studied different sciences and became
the worthy scientist. He died in 1486 and his sons built a splendid
construction on his grave.
The mausoleum of Yunuskhan is famous by its mysteries. There was
not found any burial place in it, but its wonderful fretted doors
were found musical - between the folds was greatefully built the
ancient musical instrument - chang. At present time, this building is
one of the buildings of Islamic University
Complex.
