Barakhana Medrese

The building of Suyunidjkhan mausoleum became the basis of this complex. Suyunidjkhan was the first khan of Uzbek dynasty of Sheybanids in Tashkent. Exactly this khan, the grand son of Ulugbek, was that educated. Maecenas, who drew attention of scientists and poets of the East. For the supervision of his son Nauruz Akhmed (Barakhan) he invited the famous poet of Herat, Zaynatdin Vasifi, who grorified in his poems the hospitaly of Tashkent.
Barakhan formed up with this mausoleum new medrese. At present time here the Clergy Administration of muslims in Central Asia is situated. Inside the yard of working mosque, in special library the rare collections of Koran and khadises are keeped.
