Air quality

What is being done to solve the problems

On the movable sources:
According to the National obligations of the Republic of Uzbekistan on lead extraction from gasoline, in year 2000 the special works have been begun on the transfer of production of gasoline without ethyl, which is to be finished in 2008.
For the quality perfection of diesel fuel the reconstruction of oil-refining factory in Fergana was conducted. This permitted since year 2000 to receive diesel fuel with only 0,05% of sulphur in it, according to the international standards.
The special measures on unloading of the most busy motor highways, building of the overpasses and pedestrian subways, implementation of the automatic system of management by traffic movement "Green wave" in order to contract the time of automobile work at a forced regime were conducted by the Khokimiat and Tashkent City committee for the protection of environment. Two times in a year "the clean air" monthly campaign are conducted.
The norms of toxic substances emissions are set for each model on the working out stage and are controlled by the state autoinspection and the Tashkent City committee for the protection of environment.
Automobile enterprises and technical service stations conduct the control and regulation of toxicity (the content of carbon oxide) and smoke emission (the content of carbon) of exhaust gases from automobiles.
Anyhow,  the emissions from autotransport continue to grow since their volume is defined by the accounting way on the amount of used fuel (see: "Influence").
