The discovered by scientists settlement of town type - Shashtepa, became the source of the further develoment here of ancient town culture. In the 2-1 centuries A.C. Shashtepa acquires the the features of ancient town. There is direct evidence of round citadel, strengthened by defensive wall, with the building made that adobe inside the citadel.
Outward defensive wall of citadel included internal arched corridor and was decorated by tower-shaped projections, that is it was built using the fortification methods of that time. On Shashtepa were found some imported crafts of 1-st century time of A.D. which are evidence not only of well developed trade, but of passing of "Great Silk Road" - one of the main trade roads in  the Ancient Word, through Tashkent. Some of finds (bone style) give the opportunity to suppose the existence of such town-culture, as written language. The study of Shashtepa permits us to begin the counting out of town-culture history from this settlement. It determines the age of it as about 2000 years.
